THe Illiad was a great story!!! I used to love reading greek mythology. Now I knoe there are 2 versions of that one is the Illiad and is that the Roman Version and the Odessey the Greek version or do I have them reversed.

One day I may just read the Iliad for fun. Reading it for a class just doesn't seem right. Both it and the Odyssey where written by Homer. I'm not sure if the Romans had there own versions or not. I had to read it for history and we are now getting into the Romans.

I think the Iliad is the story of the Trojan War, the Odyssey the story of Odesseus' return home. The Roman book is the Aeneid which covers similar stuff from a 'founding of Rome' perspective.

I remember I had to do a report on Dante's Inferno (that's Dante the Italian poet not the TFC player). I had already read it

I began reading The Iliad shortly before Christmas. Aside from moving it around, I haven't taken the time to return to it.
Even though I'm reading it for fun, I like to keep my SparkNotes and Mythology book close by for reference.

I'm sure there are some excellent Homer coloring books out there (classical Greek poet or Simpson, as you prefer). :D
