Although several months old, I stumbled across this article that compares the availability of broadband internet access to oil and the similarities of the two on our economy.

I would like to think of this like fiber optics to be the highways of the future. I'd love to see things like it spread and open new doors for people across the US. It's really something to see someone visiting Japan post there speed test results. Really makes me hate my 1 MB service. At least it's not capped...
